The average of menarche is 11.9 years old. So please, for the love of all that is holy, please start talking to her before the age of 11 about periods and period products. She may still physically look like a little kid when you start to talk about the physical and emotional changes puberty, but trust me! I have looked into the eyes of hundreds of 9 and 10 year olds when telling them about puberty, and while there is a fair amount of shock, you will be surprised at how receptive they are to learning about an event that will happen in the future at an unknown time.
