What MomsĀ Say...
I'm so glad that my daughter and I participated in In Full Bloom. Before hearing from Dr. Nancy and Dr. Quin, I was feeling tongue-tied when it came to discussing puberty with my daughter. After their engaging and educational presentation, conversation is flowing more freely. Thank you, Drs. Quin & Nancy, for laying a great foundation!

The anatomy and description of processes resonated most. I appreciate the constant reminders that it's normal and no big deal!

The open dialogue and vocabulary used will make it easier to talk about. I liked the visuals.

Ā You two are amazing!! Thank you both again! Camille was feeling a little nervous and very curious before the talk. Not only did you and Quin make the talk fun; it was super engaging and informative. You both went over everything in such a way that it didnāt require any additional answers from my end. The only reaction she had was the new knowledge of having her period every month! š

I recently attended a āgirl talkā session with Dr. Nancy Wood and Dr. Quin Bixler, and I cannot recommend it highly enough! They expertly took the guesswork out of explaining the changes our girls will face in the coming years. Dr. Wood and Dr. Bixler did a fantastic job breaking down complex topics into understandable concepts tailored for the girls' age group. Their ability to communicate sensitive information in a relatable manner was impressive and greatly appreciated. They created a safe space where everyone felt comfortable sharing their thoughts and concerns. Thank you, Dr. Wood and Dr. Bixler, for providing such a valuable resource!

The part that resonated with me most was girls helping girls and puberty happens when it happens. It's not a contest.

I feel more confident describing what is happening to the body.

I want to let you know how wonderful last night's talk was. It was perfect. An unexpected bonus was the conversation my daughter had with me when we got home. Iāve struggled with getting her to open up to me about feelings and anything uncomfortable. She asked me so many follow up questions (āSo do you leave the tampon in there between periods?ā)! We had an awesome bonding moment that I know will serve us both well as we move into puberty and beyond. Thank you for what you are doing for our children and us as parents. Itās so much bigger than just a period lesson.Ā
Having the moms in the room and allowing us to be involved from a distance sends a message to our girls that we care, we understand, and most importantly that we are a safe spaceā the safest space!Ā
You could tell some girls were a little nervous at first. Yāall made them feel at ease and safe and by the end you could FEEL their confidence grow into what felt like excitement.

My daughter was a little apprehensive about going, but once I told her it would be a small group of her friends with Dr. Quin and Dr. Nancy, she was excited and open to going! I know Nancy and Quin well, so I knew they would make the girls feel comfortable and make it a good time. I am so happy we went. The presentation was light and fun but had all the info the girls NEED to know about their bodies and what is about to happen. The small setting with friends was key to opening the conversation so they could ask questions. They also talked about how to help a friend out if they see they are on their period and what to do when it happens to them unexpectedly. I could tell that after the talk, my daughter not only had fun but felt better about puberty and more confident about the changes that are coming. All the props with the pads and tampons were a hit. The girls were giggling but also asking questions and learningāwhat more could you ask for!

I just want to thank y'all so much for coming last night. It was such a beautiful, wonderful event that I can't even express fully how thankful we all are for that.Ā
