Puberty Habits: It’s Never Too Late to Start Healthy Habits
Jul 16, 2026Ideally, healthy habits like eating fruits and veggies, drinking plenty of water, exercising, and getting a good night’s sleep start when we are toddlers. If your daughter does not have healthy habits in her regimen, do not lose heart! It is NEVER too late to begin forming healthy habits. The best practice is to tackle one small habit at a time. It is almost impossible (and it rarely works) to wake up one morning and decide from that day forth you are going to do everything “right” for the rest of your life. Instead, try making one, sustainable change at a time. For example, I will try to eat at least one piece of fruit and one vegetable every day for a week. Once you achieve a small goal, you can add another. For example, now that I have incorporated fruits and veggies, I will try to get 8 hours of sleep every night for a week. You will be amazed at how the seemingly small steps add up to a lifetime of healthy habits quickly!
